Apple Butter French Toast Bake

This Apple Butter French Toast Bake is a quick and cozy breakfast packed with fall flavor. Made with layers of bread, spiced apple butter, and a creamy egg mixture, it bakes up warm and golden.

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Vital Farms Salted Butter
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1 16 ounce brioche loaf, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 Vital Farms Eggs
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • powdered sugar, for topping
  • maple syrup, for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease a baking dish.
  • Add the butter to a small saucepan on medium heat. Cook until the butter begins to brown. Occasionally, swirl to prevent burning. Remove from heat, and set aside.
  • In a heatproof bowl add the browned butter and apple butter. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Then add the eggs and whisk. Pour in the heavy whipping cream, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until remaining ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Add the brioche pieces to the prepared baking dish. Pour the mixture over the brioche. Gently mix until all pieces are coated.
  • Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzled maple syrup. Best served warm!
