Leftover Stuffing Egg-In-The-Hole

Try this new twist on the classic breakfast by swapping in a block of stuffing in place of regular old bread for a tasty spin!

Makes 1 serving

Ingredients  

  • 1 bread slice sized block of leftover stuffing/dressing
  • 1 tablespoon Vital Farms Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Vital Farms Egg
  • salt
  • ground pepper

Instructions 

  • Place the block of stuffing on a cutting board or plate and use a 2 or 3-inch round cookie cutter or paring knife to cut the center out.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add in the butter and let it melt.
  • Add in the stuffing block and round cutout into the pan and crack the egg into the hole. Season the egg with salt and pepper. Griddle on one side until the egg has set and the bottom of the stuffing is golden-brown. Flip both pieces and continue cooking until the round is golden brown on the other side and the egg has set on the second side, another minute or so.
  • Remove both and add to a plate. Use the round for dipping into the egg.
