Preheat the oven to 400° F. Slice the top off a head of garlic so the cloves are exposed. Wrap up in foil and place on a small baking sheet. Roast for about 40-50 minutes, until garlic is completely tender and caramelized. Allow to cool slightly.
Add the butter to a small bowl along with the salt. Squeeze the head of garlic into the butter.
Stir to combine then transfer to a small mason jar or container for gifting.
